Bhopal, Friday, November 15, 2024, Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav stated that India is now a guiding force, a cooperative ally, and a popular friend to many nations worldwide. Under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, India has elevated its stature globally. From being the 11th largest economy in 2014, India has now become the fifth-largest and is projected to rise to the third-largest economy by 2026.
Dr. Yadav made these remarks during the swearing-in ceremony of Shri Piyush Tiwari as the Trade Commissioner of the India Commonwealth Trade Council, coinciding with International Tolerance Day. The Chief Minister expressed pride in Shri Tiwari’s appointment, which marks a significant achievement for Madhya Pradesh. The event saw the participation of representatives from several Commonwealth nations, including Australia, Namibia, the United Kingdom, Malawi, and Samoa, as well as diplomats from Myanmar, Turkey, Morocco, Algeria, and Uganda.
Dr. Yadav personally handed over the appointment letter to Shri Tiwari and extended heartfelt congratulations on behalf of the state’s citizens. He emphasized that this appointment would further strengthen trade relations with Commonwealth countries. Representatives from participating nations congratulated Shri Tiwari on assuming this pivotal role.
### **Madhya Pradesh: A Hub for Industry and Trade**
Dr. Yadav highlighted that countries like the UK, which once ruled India, now look up to its leadership. He attributed this to India’s intellectual capital, self-reliance, resources, and PM Modi’s visionary leadership. Madhya Pradesh has been receiving proposals for collaborations across various sectors such as trade, commerce, aviation, culture, minerals, and tourism.
He noted that the state has transformed significantly, citing the rise in medical colleges from just six in 2004 to 20 today, with 12 new colleges being developed under the PPP model. He assured that Madhya Pradesh is committed to becoming a preferred destination for industries and global partnerships.
### **India’s Rising Influence on the Global Stage**
Speaking on India’s global position, Dr. Yadav said that the nation shines like the sun among Commonwealth nations, despite the struggles endured during colonial rule. He emphasized India’s inherent tolerance, noting that it provided refuge and respect to the Parsi community and continues to embody universal brotherhood.
The Chief Minister reflected on India’s achievements during the COVID-19 pandemic, such as the provision of free vaccines to millions of citizens and other nations, which garnered immense global respect. He also highlighted India’s strides in digital transactions, leaving many nations astonished.
Dr. Yadav expressed optimism about India’s future, stating that the 21st century belongs to India, echoing the words of Swami Vivekananda. He predicted that Madhya Pradesh’s budget would double in the next four years, aligning with its rapid development goals.
### **Piyush Tiwari Acknowledges Leadership**
Shri Piyush Tiwari, the newly appointed Trade Commissioner, expressed gratitude to Chief Minister Dr. Yadav and lauded the leadership of PM Modi and CM Yadav. He noted that UNESCO initiated awareness on tolerance in 1995 and emphasized the importance of such efforts. He also mentioned NITI Aayog’s role in promoting tolerance and inclusivity within the Commonwealth.
The event concluded with the presence of MP Mahendra Singh Solanki and other dignitaries. Shri Tiwari’s appointment symbolizes a new chapter in strengthening Madhya Pradesh’s and India’s global trade relationships.
