Hathras, November 13: A grand mass wedding ceremony took place at the District Sports Stadium in Hathras under the Chief Minister’s Mass Marriage Scheme, where 354 couples were married. Among them, 336 couples took their vows following Hindu rituals, while 18 couples completed their marriage according to Islamic traditions.
The event, organized by the district administration, was inaugurated by Hathras Sadar MLA Anjula Singh Mahaur, District Magistrate Rahul Pandey, Superintendent of Police Nipun Agarwal, and BJP District President Sharad Maheshwari. The dignitaries paid homage to Lord Ganesha by garlanding his statue and lighting the ceremonial lamp.
On this occasion, MLA Anjula Singh Mahaur praised the scheme, describing it as a significant and public welfare initiative by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. She highlighted that the scheme provides essential support for low-income families for whom marrying off daughters can be a financial challenge.
