Raipur, November 6, 2024 – The Forest and Climate Change Department’s stall has become a major attraction at the three-day Rajyotsav event held at the Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Industrial and Trade Complex in Naya Raipur. Visitors are drawn to the display of information about Chhattisgarh’s rich biodiversity and traditional Ayurvedic medicines prepared by local healers from Sihawa Nagri, as shared by the Biodiversity Board.
The Wildlife Division is showcasing various initiatives, including a captivating video on tiger conservation efforts in the state, models depicting human-wildlife coexistence, and an engaging selfie point. The Sanjeevani stall is featuring a range of herbal and food products created by the Chhattisgarh State Minor Forest Produce Association, available for exhibition and sale.
Additionally, an eco-tourism and employment model highlights ongoing projects by the Forest Department, alongside a display of sacred groves, or Devgudi. The Chhattisgarh Tribal Local Health Tradition and Medicinal Plant Board is providing information on various medicinal plants found in forests and their cultivation benefits. The Joint Forest Management stall is inspiring forest dwellers towards self-employment, offering products from forest management committees like custard apple ice cream, rabri, jamun juice, and Vishnubhog rice for visitors to explore and purchase.
