Dehradun, July 3, 2026: Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Friday distributed appointment letters to 182 candidates selected in the Uttarakhand Public Service Commission’s PCS Main Examination 2024 and five candidates selected for personal assistant posts in the Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Department.
Addressing the newly selected officials at a programme held at the Main Sevak Sadan in the Chief Minister’s Camp Office, Dhami said the appointment letters represent far more than entry into government service. He described them as a symbol of the trust, expectations and spirit of public service of 1.25 crore people of Uttarakhand.
The chief minister said that from now on, an officer will be judged not by designation alone, but by work culture, sensitivity and commitment to public service. He said around 1.5 lakh candidates had applied for the PCS Main Examination 2024 and more than 71,000 appeared for the test, but only 182 made it to the final selection list, showing the scale of competition and the value of merit.
Dhami said the state government has introduced the country’s strictest anti cheating law to ensure complete transparency in recruitment. He said this has strengthened youth confidence in the examination system. Over the past four and a half years, more than 34,000 young people have been given government jobs through transparent and fair recruitment processes, he added. With 187 more youth joining this effort today, the government’s commitment to supporting young talent has become even stronger.
The chief minister said the government’s goal is to create opportunities for every young person in Uttarakhand according to their talent and ability so that they are not forced to leave the state in search of employment. He reiterated that both the state’s resources and its youth are the greatest strength for Uttarakhand’s development.
Referring to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s remarks from Kedarnath that the third decade of the 21st century would be Uttarakhand’s decade, Dhami said the newly selected officers will play an important role in making that vision a reality. He urged them to work with complete dedication, honesty and sincerity to build a developed Uttarakhand.
Cabinet Ministers Ganesh Joshi, Dhan Singh Rawat and Ramsingh Kaida, MLA Savita Kapoor, Gorkha Welfare Council Chairperson Jyoti Kotia and several senior officials were present.
