Ex-Gratia Assistance Proves to Be a Blessing

A Life Full of Hardships
Guddi Bai’s struggles began 15 years ago with the untimely demise of her husband, Hetram. The responsibility of supporting the family fell upon her elder son, Prabhakar Rajak, who started working as an electrician. However, tragedy struck again when Prabhakar lost his life in a tragic accident.
This devastating loss left the family both emotionally and financially shattered. In the wake of the tragedy, her younger son, Sudhakar, began learning the electrician trade, while her eldest son, Diwakar, took on the responsibility of managing the family’s farming activities.
Sambal Yojana: A Beacon of Hope
Fortunately, Prabhakar had been registered under the Mukhyamantri Jankalyan (Sambal) Yojana 2.0. After his death, the government promptly deposited ₹4 lakh as ex-gratia assistance into Guddi Bai’s account.
Calling this assistance a blessing, Guddi Bai said, “This financial help is nothing short of a miracle for us. It has given me the means to support my children’s education and help them establish their careers. This assistance has renewed our strength to move forward.”
Guddi Bai expressed her heartfelt gratitude to Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, whose initiative ensured that her family received timely and much-needed support. She added that the scheme has given families like hers a chance to stand on their feet again and regain hope.
