The Chief Minister announced a mini airport to enhance connectivity, upgrading Shahpur to municipal status post evaluation, and establishing a Kirtan Kendra for the Warkari community. New roads linking Khamni to Raigaon and Shahpur to Sukhpuri will improve accessibility. Banana farmers will benefit from a dedicated value addition, storage, and processing unit, while youth gain skill based training programs and Burhanpur Cooperative Silk Mill workers receive pending dues clearance.

Agricultural and Industrial Synergy

Burhanpur’s robust banana and cotton output positions it ideally for expanded processing, storage, and export facilities. The Taapti Groundwater Mega Recharge Project will rejuvenate local agriculture, complementing irrigation expansions covering 85,133 hectares. Horticulture courses will be introduced in all colleges statewide, nurturing expertise. Declaring 2026 as “Kisan Kalyan Year” underscores the focus on farmer welfare, with nearby Dhar’s PM Mitra Park aiding cotton producers.

Ongoing schemes like the Ladli Behna Yojana’s 33rd installment empower over 1.25 crore women. Dr. Yadav advocated for community weddings, citing his own son’s participation as an example.
