Union Minister of Commerce and Industry, Mr. Piyush Goyal, presented the prestigious award at a grand ceremony held at Bharat Mandapam in Delhi. Mr. Rajesh Rathore, Executive Director of the Madhya Pradesh Industrial Development Corporation (MPIDC), received the honor on behalf of the state. Among the 140 competing industrial parks from 18 states, Vikram Udyogpuri secured the top position.
Union Minister Goyal lauded the cleanliness efforts of Ujjain and Indore, stating, “This achievement is a moment of pride not just for Madhya Pradesh but for the entire country. The recognition will inspire industries to become more sustainable and environmentally conscious.”
Selection Process
As part of the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, 140 industrial parks participated in the “Cleanest Industrial Park” competition. The Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FICCI) and PwC conducted evaluations through rigorous screening and site inspections, where Vikram Udyogpuri earned the highest rank.
Transforming Ujjain into an Industrial Hub
CM Dr. Yadav has prioritized Ujjain’s industrial growth, attracting significant investments from major corporations such as Amul, PepsiCo India, and MDH. Vikram Udyogpuri alone has generated over 15,060 jobs and continues to drive employment opportunities, elevating Ujjain’s profile at national and international levels.
Vikram Udyogpuri: A Clean and Sustainable Model
Spread across 1,133 acres, Vikram Udyogpuri stands as a symbol of modern industrial development:
- Sustainability Initiatives: Advanced waste recycling systems and green energy solutions are integral to the park’s design.
- Health Innovation: A Medical Device Park is being developed on 360 acres, attracting ₹1,855 crore in investments and creating over 6,900 jobs.
- Employment: Total investment in the park has exceeded ₹5,198 crore, supporting economic growth and job creation.
- Modern Infrastructure: Features include an efficient water management system, extensive green belts, and energy-efficient structures.

The park has adopted a community-driven approach to cleanliness, with industries and workers collectively ensuring its maintenance. These efforts have distinguished Vikram Udyogpuri as a model for other industrial parks.
