Raipur, November , 2024: In a landmark decision for Bastar’s development, Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai chaired the first meeting of the Bastar Region Tribal Development Authority at Chitrakote. Key announcements included the creation of a *Tourism Corridor* to promote the region’s tourism potential and a strategy to develop identified tourist spots.

The meeting also discussed the construction of a super-specialty hospital by NMDC and marked the launch of the **Saur Samadhan App**, **Maano Bastar App**, and solar-powered power banks.Bastar

### **Recognition for Bastar’s Dhurmaras Village**
The CM celebrated the selection of Dhurmaras village in Kanger Valley National Park for the *United Nations World Tourism Organization’s Best Tourism Village Upgradation Program*. Out of 20 villages across 60 countries, Dhurmaras represented India and highlighted Bastar on the global stage.

### **Focus on Tribal Development**
CM Sai emphasized the critical role of tribal development authorities in transforming Bastar and Sarguja regions, ensuring no shortage of funds, including significant allocations through CSR. He credited the “double-engine government” at the Center and state for their commitment to tribal welfare.

*“With Central Home Minister Amit Shah’s target to eliminate Maoist terrorism by March 2026, Bastar is progressing towards peace,”* Sai remarked. He affirmed the government’s resolve to strengthen democracy in remote areas by enhancing trust in governance through development initiatives.

### **Infrastructure and Governance Improvements**
The CM highlighted projects under the *Niyad Nellanar Yojana*, which aims to deliver infrastructure like roads, bridges, schools, hospitals, drinking water, electricity, and mobile towers to remote villages. The establishment of 34 new security camps is also underway, offering essential facilities to local residents.

Directives were issued to accelerate work on Keskal Ghat improvements and complete approved projects within stipulated timelines. He also instructed district collectors to address unresolved issues, such as the red water problem in Dantewada villages, by collaborating with NMDC and local representatives.

### **Ministers’ Proposals for Bastar’s Growth**
Several ministers and legislators presented suggestions during the meeting:
– **Deputy CM Arun Sao** emphasized the success of the *Niyad Nellanar Yojana* and initiatives like the *Bastar Olympics*.
– **Forest Minister Kedar Kashyap** suggested enhancing fish farming, dairy entrepreneurship, and irrigation facilities.
– **Finance Minister O.P. Chaudhary** proposed establishing hotel management institutes, nursing colleges, and organic farming projects.
– **MLA Kiran Dev Singh** advocated for a Central Instrumental Laboratory for student researchers.

### **Employment and Education in Bastar**
Chief Secretary Amitabh Jain reported significant police success against Maoist elements. Surveys are underway in 95 villages to extend essential services, with recruitment drives planned to fill vacancies in aspirational districts. The education department ensured no schools in Bastar were closed, with provisions made for building infrastructure for school facilities.

### **Bastar Development Authority Meeting Highlights**
The meeting saw participation from several ministers, MPs, MLAs, district officials, and departmental heads. Key attendees included Food Minister Dayal Das Baghel, Health Minister Shyam Bihari Jaiswal, and Bastar MP Mahesh Kashyap, among others.

With these initiatives, the government reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring peace, development, and sustainable growth in Bastar while positioning the region as a global tourism hub.
