Under the inspiring leadership and guidance of Divisional Railway Manager Mr. Debashish Tripathi, the Bhopal Division of West Central Railway has once again made headlines.
Dr. Madhu Sharma, serving as Office Superintendent in the Engineering Department of the Divisional Railway Manager’s office, Bhopal, has made the entire railway family proud through her remarkable social and educational services. Recognized by the esteemed publication ‘Business Standard’ and 116 news platforms worldwide, Dr. Sharma has been listed among “India’s Top 10 Game-Changer Women” on the occasion of International Women’s Day 2025.
A Dedicated Educator and Compassionate Social Worker
For the last 25 years, Dr. Madhu Sharma has been tirelessly working towards bringing positive change to the lives of underprivileged children. Her dedication is set to be honored with a Doctorate from the prestigious “Conio University” in Italy at a special ceremony scheduled for April 2025.
Despite her demanding railway duties, Dr. Sharma actively pursues social upliftment and educational causes. After fulfilling her railway responsibilities five days a week, she dedicates her Saturdays to visiting government schools, delivering motivational talks, and teaching essential life skills. On Sundays, she visits slum areas, distributing chocolates and narrating inspiring stories to children. Due to her affectionate approach, the children lovingly call her ‘Sunday Wali Didi.’
Mental Health Advocacy and Women Empowerment
Dr. Sharma also serves as the Regional Leader of the mental health awareness initiative “Ear to Hear” in Bhopal. Through this initiative, she regularly conducts free online and offline sessions aimed at raising mental health awareness among women.
Additionally, she actively supports visually impaired children by recording study materials in her own voice. To combat addiction to mobile devices and harmful habits, Dr. Sharma encourages children to engage in various games and creative activities. She has also created inspirational videos promoting cleanliness and awareness for railways and other institutions, establishing herself as a successful anchor.

Her unwavering dedication to social causes has earned her numerous prestigious awards, including the Mother Teresa Award, Asia Book of Records, and Madhya Pradesh Mahila Ratna Samman. Senior Divisional Commercial Manager Mr. Saurabh Kataria acknowledges her exceptional commitment to society, which has inspired countless individuals.
Having devoted 12 years of selfless service in Bhopal and 13 years in Shajapur, Dr. Sharma has positively transformed the lives of hundreds of underprivileged and neglected children.
