Korea | November 26, 2024 The paddy procurement season in Chhattisgarh’s Korea district has begun seamlessly from November 14, 2024, with farmers expressing satisfaction over the excellent arrangements made at the procurement centers. This season’s efficient management and farmer-centric initiatives have created a positive and hopeful atmosphere among the farming community.

Efficient Management and Farmer-Friendly Measures

In Korea district, 22,855 farmers have registered for the procurement process, with 21 paddy procurement centers established across the region. The Patna center has the highest number of registrations, with 2,466 farmers cultivating paddy over 3,285.30 hectares, while the Rajouli/Aklasarai center has the least, with 322 farmers farming on 349.73 hectares.

Farmers have been actively participating in the procurement process by securing online tokens after completing the harvesting and threshing of their crops. The smooth operations and systematic arrangements have significantly boosted their confidence and satisfaction.

Farmers Appreciate Government Support

Farmers, including Sitaram, Ram Kripal, Vimal Kant from Tendua village, and Virendra Singh Markam from Tilvandand village, expressed their gratitude to Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai.

They highlighted the efficient arrangements at procurement centers and praised the government for purchasing paddy at ₹3,100 per quintal, with a limit of 21 quintals per acre. Farmers plan to use the proceeds for:

  • Children’s education
  • Home construction
  • Agricultural improvements

One farmer stated, “The timely and well-organized procurement has eased our financial concerns. We are grateful to the government for prioritizing farmers’ welfare.”

Robust Monitoring for Seamless Procurement

To ensure smooth operations, District Collector Chandan Tripathi has appointed nodal officers at every procurement center. Additionally, five check posts and a district-level control room have been set up to address any complaints or issues faced by farmers. Farmers can approach these facilities for immediate support, ensuring a hassle-free procurement experience.

Chief Minister’s Farmer-Centric Initiatives

The success of this year’s paddy procurement is credited to the proactive decisions made by Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai. His efforts to ensure:

  • Competitive pricing of ₹3,100 per quintal
  • Streamlined operations through digital token systems
  • Robust on-ground administrative arrangements

These initiatives have not only addressed farmers’ immediate needs but have also reinforced their trust in the government’s commitment to their welfare.
