Madhya Pradesh Positioned as a Gateway to South Asian Markets

Bhopal, November 29, 2024

Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav stated that Madhya Pradesh, with its skilled workforce and abundant natural resources, has emerged as a key industrial hub. He highlighted that the decade-long presence of the LAPP Group in the state demonstrates its strategic importance, with connectivity to not only Indian but also South Asian markets.

The LAPP Group, a global leader in industrial cabling and connectivity solutions, has invested over ₹100 crore in Madhya Pradesh, establishing the state as its primary base after Bengaluru.

Global Investors Invited to Madhya Pradesh

During his visit to Stuttgart, Germany, CM Dr. Yadav toured the LAPP Group’s factory and met with its CEO, Mr. Matthias Lapp, and senior executives. Dr. Yadav extended an invitation to global investors, including the LAPP Group, to participate in the Global Investors Summit in Bhopal. He assured that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visionary leadership, investment opportunities in India and Madhya Pradesh have expanded significantly.

“Our strength doubles under PM Modi’s leadership,” said Dr. Yadav, emphasizing that the state provides immense potential for industries seeking to grow in energy, automation, and manufacturing sectors.

LAPP Group’s Strategic Presence in Madhya Pradesh

The LAPP Group, founded in 1959, specializes in high-quality cabling, connectors, and accessories for industries like energy, automotive, and industrial automation. In Madhya Pradesh, its manufacturing unit in Rajgarh (Piplu Khedi) has seen investments totaling ₹141.5 crore since 2012:

  • ₹44 crore for single-core wire production (2012).
  • ₹13.5 crore for multi-core control cable expansion (2014).
  • ₹22 crore under the Make-in-India initiative to boost manufacturing capacity (2018).
  • ₹62 crore for the latest e-beam and compounding plant (2024).

This expansion has created hundreds of direct jobs in the Bhopal-Rajgarh region, with the facility now spanning 30,000 sq. ft.

Madhya Pradesh: A Thriving Industrial Hub

Dr. Yadav expressed gratitude to CEO Matthias Lapp for choosing Madhya Pradesh as a key base and underscored the historical ties between India and Germany. He affirmed that such partnerships not only open new avenues for industrial growth but also strengthen India-Germany relations.

With Madhya Pradesh’s strategic location and government support, the state is poised to become a preferred destination for global investment.
