Parliament in Chaos: A Disgrace to Democracy

Parliament in Chaos: A Disgrace to Democracy
Share This Post

The recent winter session of Parliament has turned into a theater of absurdity, with disruptions, personal attacks, and blatant disregard for democratic decorum. Both the ruling BJP and the Opposition are equally culpable for turning the hallowed institution into a battleground of egos and theatrics, leaving citizens disillusioned.

The session has been marred by daily adjournments, loud sloganeering, and puerile antics. Rahul Gandhi’s relentless pursuit of the Adani-Modi narrative has done little to address real issues, while the BJP has countered with allegations linking the Gandhis to controversial figures. This blame game has created a legislative deadlock, overshadowing critical discussions on pressing matters like the economy, border tensions, and social justice.

Even within the Opposition, cracks are evident. Leaders like Mamata Banerjee and Akhilesh Yadav have distanced themselves from Congress’s disruptive tactics, exposing the fragile unity of the INDI alliance. Meanwhile, the BJP’s retaliatory rhetoric further fuels chaos, diverting attention from substantive governance.

Parliament must rise above this chaos. Both sides owe it to the citizens to engage in constructive debates rather than indulging in petty squabbles. India’s democracy deserves better than what its leaders are currently offering.
