Raipur, November 26, 2024 Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai joined the Constitution Day March today, commemorating the 75th anniversary of India’s Constitution. The march began at the Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru Memorial Medical College Auditorium and culminated at Ambedkar Chowk, where the Chief Minister paid tribute to Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar by garlanding his statue.

Addressing the gathering at Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru Memorial Medical College, CM Shri Vishnu Dev Sai emphasized the significance of the Constitution as a mirror to India’s centuries-old culture, history, and traditions. He remarked, “Our Constitution is the result of centuries of struggle, experience, and achievements. It symbolizes the unity of our nation and preserves our democratic values.”

He further noted how the Constitution includes symbolic illustrations, such as the depiction of Lord Rama, Mata Sita, and Lord Lakshman returning to Ayodhya after the victory over Lanka. These visuals underline the cultural ethos that the Constitution’s framers wanted to pass on, urging Indians to uphold democratic values alongside their rich cultural heritage.Constitution

Adaptability of the Constitution

The Chief Minister lauded the foresight of the Constitution’s architects, who provided for its adaptability through amendments, allowing future generations to modify it in line with evolving needs and knowledge.

Messages from Other Leaders

  • Sports Minister Shri Tankaram Verma underscored the importance of educating citizens about constitutional rights and duties, stating that “the Constitution is a philosophy of democratic life and an inspiration for unity and integrity.”
  • Forest Minister Shri Kedar Kashyap highlighted the role of the Constitution in empowering marginalized communities, noting how it enabled a tribal woman to ascend to the country’s highest office. He stressed the need for awareness of constitutional duties to strengthen democracy.
  • Former Speaker Shri Dharamlal Kaushik called for everyone to pledge accountability toward their duties, describing Constitution Day as a tribute to its framers and their vision for a unified democracy.

Year-Long Campaign: ‘Our Constitution – Our Pride’

To spread awareness about the significance of the Constitution, a year-long campaign titled ‘Our Constitution – Our Pride’ has been launched, reflecting its pivotal role in maintaining the nation’s democratic framework.

The event saw the presence of notable officials, including Sports Department Secretary Shri Himshikhar Gupta, Raipur Collector Dr. Gaurav Kumar Singh, Municipal Commissioner Shri Avinash Mishra, and students from various schools.
