Bhopal: Tuesday, November , 2024, – Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav inaugurated the state-of-the-art “Maternity Waiting Room” at Sri Aurobindo University, Indore. Highlighting this significant healthcare advancement, Dr. Yadav emphasized that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, India and Madhya Pradesh are making remarkable progress in healthcare, with growing interest in developing medical tourism. The introduction of the Maternity Waiting Room is poised to revolutionize healthcare services, especially benefiting expectant mothers from remote rural areas and ensuring timely medical attention.
The Chief Minister lauded this initiative as a groundbreaking development in healthcare, calling it a “milestone” that will be supported and expanded further. He commended the compassionate approach of the Arvindo Hospital management, specifically appreciating Dr. Vinod Bhandari’s efforts to adopt Primary and Community Health Centers, and promised full government cooperation.
During the event, Dr. Bhandari presented a memento to the Chief Minister. The occasion was attended by notable figures, including MLA Ramesh Mendola, Golu Shukla, Gaurav Ranadive, hospital founder Dr. Vinod Bhandari, Managing Director Dr. Mahak Bhandari, Vice-Chancellor Dr. Jyoti Bindal, and Dean Mrs. Jaishree Kapadia, alongside numerous SEMS Hospital doctors and students. Dignitaries like Commissioner Deepak Singh, Police Commissioner Santosh Kumar Singh, Collector Ashish Singh, and Municipal Commissioner Shivam Verma were also present.
Dr. Vinod Bhandari elaborated on the Maternity Waiting Room concept, outlining plans for collaboration with the state government to reduce maternal and infant mortality rates at primary and community health centers. A detailed project model aligned with NRHM training protocols will be implemented, starting in Indore and Ujjain.
The Maternity Waiting Room, equipped with ultra-modern amenities, will provide top-tier facilities for pregnant women from one to two weeks before delivery, adhering to the “Arvindo Hospital Protocol.” Dr. Bhandari explained that women admitted for childbirth would receive round-the-clock monitoring, along with comprehensive care, including antenatal exercises and a specialized diet. Additional amenities include physiotherapy, music therapy, birthing bath exercises, and aromatherapy.
The fully air-conditioned Maternity Waiting Room also ensures the comfort of accompanying family members, offering an integrated and supportive environment for everyone involved.
