Inaugurates 17th Conference of the Association of Universities of Asia and the Pacific

Bhopal, November, 2024: Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav emphasized that **India’s life values and ethical principles** have been the cornerstone of its historical and cultural heritage. Speaking at the 17th conference of the **Association of Universities of Asia and the Pacific (AUAP)**, he remarked that these values continue to influence global peace and education in modern times.

The conference, hosted at Hotel Taj, Bhopal, was centered on the theme **”The Changing Paradigm of Higher Education and Our Life Values.”** Dr. Yadav inaugurated the event by lighting the ceremonial lamp.

### **Life Values in Indian Epics and Leadership**
Dr. Yadav drew parallels from Indian epics to illustrate the role of values in leadership and success:
– **Ravana and the Kauravas** were unmatched in skill and resources, yet their lack of ethical grounding led to their downfall.
– Conversely, **Lord Ram and the Pandavas triumphed**, underscoring the **victory of life values and morality over mere material power.**
– He also referred to **Karna’s downfall** as a consequence of his vengeful and negative outlook, despite his unparalleled abilities.

“Such examples from history show us that skills and resources can only take one so far; true success comes from adherence to life values,” he stated.

### **India’s Role in Global Peace**
Highlighting contemporary challenges such as the **Russia-Ukraine conflict and Israel’s struggles**, Dr. Yadav lauded Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s role as a **global peacemaker.** “It is the strength of Indian life values that positions our leadership as a beacon of peace in turbulent times,” he remarked.

### **Innovations through New Education Policy**
Dr. Yadav outlined the state’s efforts to make education more:
– **Flexible and inclusive** through the **New Education Policy (NEP 2020).**
– Accessible to students of all ages by introducing **credit transfer systems** and interdisciplinary learning opportunities.
– Engaging by fostering creativity and providing students with the freedom to explore diverse subjects.

He extended an invitation to the AUAP to expand its activities in Madhya Pradesh, underlining the state’s commitment to nurturing global partnerships in education.

### **Global-Standard Education in Madhya Pradesh**
**JLU Chancellor Hari Mohan Gupta**, host of the conference, highlighted the AUAP’s first-ever meeting in India as a milestone. The association, spread across **35 countries**, is dedicated to establishing global education and skill development centers in Madhya Pradesh.

The event saw participation from:
– **Principal Secretary for Higher Education**, Mr. Anupam Rajan.
– Distinguished educationists and AUAP representatives.
– Subject matter experts from leading universities.

The conference reinforced Madhya Pradesh’s commitment to becoming a hub for **world-class education** while integrating **life values** with modern pedagogy.
