Kejriwal’s residence.

Politicians with large private incomes do not spend excessively on official houses, unlike the AAP messiah, who raided the public money.

Politicians with large private incomes do not spend excessively on official residence, unlike the AAP messiah, who raided the public money.

At 6 Flagstaff Road, Civil Lines, Delhi, the Public Works Department of the Delhi government recently released a list of fixtures and fittings. Arvind Kejriwal abandoned his official house a few days ago after resigning as Chief Minister. Kejriwal’s decision to retire after being released on bail in the Delhi liquor excise case highlights his shady behavior. Despite being arrested by the Enforcement Directorate in March of this year, he refused to retire, citing the Chief Minister’s “gaddi,” which goes against convention in such instances.

Examine the contrast. Around this period, Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren was arrested in a corruption case. He resigned immediately.
He returned to his position as Chief Minister after being granted bail. The court did not impose any conditions that could hinder his performance as chief minister. In the AAP supremo’s case, the Supreme Court prohibited him from visiting the Chief Minister’s office or signing any documents. You may be wondering why such stringent conditions were imposed on Kejriwal. He ignored legal precedence and continued to operate the CM’s office from prison. The Supreme Court ordered Kejriwal to propose Atishi Marlena as Chief Minister. Despite her international degrees, Marlena placed an empty chair next to her, implying she was only a chair-warmer. Kejriwal, a charlatan, claimed his departure was moral and voluntary, in line with public tradition. Returning to the PWD inventory for the official residence of the Aam Aadmi Chief Minister.

The media stories regarding the elaborate construction and interior décor of the Sheesh Mahal are undeniably true. This verified the cliché that there is no smoke without fire. Despite media coverage of Kejriwal and his family’s ostentatious’renovation’ of a house, the AAP’s henchmen who frequently lie on his behalf stayed silent.

The CM complex expanded its land covering by acquiring four adjoining houses of judicial officers who were forced to depart. The built-up area in Delhi CM’s mansion exceeded the customary limit for top central cabinet ministers by four times. The public discourse ignored the land value of the over 2,000 square meter complex, while spending roughly Rs. 1,000 crores on constructing and furnishings.

The government house is considered the most opulent in India. Old-timers argue that no other chief or central minister has spent so much taxpayer money on a personal residence. Kejriwal spent lavishly on himself and his family, despite the lack of genuine silver and gold toilets. Politicians with large private incomes do not spend excessively on official houses, unlike the AAP messiah, who raided the public money.

The home of a “aam aadmi” who goes to considerable lengths to be seen in public wearing a cheap bush-shirt, unironed trousers, modest chappals or shoes, and a regulation one-rupee ballpoint pen in his chest pocket was adorned with imported Japanese toilet seats that cost up to Rs 12 lakhs each, walk-in imported refrigerators, king-sized cooking ranges, dozens of ultra-smart TVs, water purifying systems that cost up to Rs 15 crores, massage chairs and sofas, fancy curtains, waterfalls, manicured pillars, and more.

The PWD said that the pricey toilet seats were missing during their takeover of the residence, as per the standard procedure for vacating a house before assigning it to the next renter.
Even here, allegedly to avoid PWD inventory, Kejriwal gave the keys to Atishi Marlena, defying the established processes. The purpose of creating Sheesh Mahal was to circumvent the requirement for the Delhi government to obtain prior consent from the Lieutenant Governor, Vinay Kumar Saxena, for spending Rs. 10 crores or more.

The new messiah divided the expenditure into multiple bills, each slightly less than Rs. 10 crores. It’s unclear if there were any kickbacks involved in the purchase of pricey toys and trinkets for Kerjiwal and his family. Many things were purchased at the highest quoted price, despite the fact that the actual price is typically substantially lower. A thorough probe of the AAP supremo’s heist is necessary to answer these lingering issues.

Even the wealthy practice financial prudence and avoid wasting money. But not for Aam Aadmi Kejriwal. Delhi is facing a significant budget deficit for the first time in three decades. The AAP government in Punjab has inherited a significantly larger deficit than the preceding Congress administration. The AAP supremo has been the most notorious charlatan in Indian politics. He is a shame to the civil society movement from which he arose to clean the Aurean stables of politics, only to sully them even further.
