Panchayats that remain free from disputes and conflicts will receive a grant of ₹5 lakh each and additional benefits under the Vrindavan Gram Yojana. Dr. Yadav made this announcement while addressing the sarpanches (village heads) of Ujjain South Assembly through a video conference (VC) from the NIC room in Ujjain.
CM Public Welfare Campaign
The CM Public Welfare Campaign will run until January 26, 2025, during which villagers will be informed about various government welfare schemes, and eligible beneficiaries will be provided with the benefits. Emphasizing the importance of active village governance, the Chief Minister remarked, “We must ensure that all panchayats are fully functional and efficient.”
Progress in Village Development
During the VC, Ujjain Collector Neeraj Kumar Singh informed the Chief Minister that continuous camps are being organized in all 589 village panchayats of the district to meet the developmental goals. Notably, all panchayats in the South Assembly have access to video conferencing facilities.
Dr. Yadav interacted with sarpanches from several panchayats, including Lekoda and Talod, where he was informed about the completion of the road construction connecting Talod to Fatehabad. He encouraged sarpanches to actively engage with beneficiaries, listen to their concerns, and resolve issues within specified timelines.
Technological and Infrastructure Advancements
The Chief Minister highlighted the ongoing installation of CCTV cameras in panchayats to enhance security and accountability. In Umariya Khalsa, a dedicated guesthouse for Jain monks has been constructed, and he directed similar facilities to be established in other panchayats.
Dr. Yadav also discussed the Panchkoshi pilgrimage route, urging the allocation of Panchkoshi funds to panchayats along the route. Additionally, he instructed patwaris (village land officers) to maintain detailed records of government land, barren lands, and cultivated areas, and prepare development plans for future projects.
Comprehensive Data Collection in Panchayats
The Chief Minister stressed the importance of maintaining updated information in all village panchayats, including:
- Unemployed men and women, literacy levels, and educational status.
- Land use data, including government land and potential development areas.
- Infrastructure, such as police stations, schools, and hospitals.
- Meritorious students and agricultural advancements.
He also directed the organization of mass marriage ceremonies during Vasant Panchami to promote community welfare and discourage unnecessary expenditures on lavish celebrations. He urged residents to invest in their children’s education instead of spending heavily on weddings and death feasts.
Addressing Local Issues
During the VC, the Chief Minister promptly addressed issues such as broken electricity wires in Aslana Panchayat, instructing immediate repairs. He also interacted with sarpanches from Panthpiplai and Khemasa, reiterating the importance of ensuring that local citizens face no problems in rural areas.
Exhibition Praised
Dr. Yadav concluded his day by visiting a Public Relations Department exhibition at the Administrative Complex, showcasing achievements over the past year. He lauded the department for its efforts.
