Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai Launches Distribution of Swamitva Cards in Dhamtari

Raipur, January 8, 2025

Under the visionary leadership of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, the Chhattisgarh government has embraced a digital governance model to simplify and empower the lives of its citizens. Today, during a special ceremony in Dhamtari district, the Chief Minister inaugurated and laid the foundation stones for development projects worth ₹268 crores. He also officially launched the distribution of Swamitva Cards, granting ownership rights to rural residents over their residential land.

Advancing Digital Governance

Chief Minister Sai emphasized that Chhattisgarh is integrating information technology into all departments to ensure that government schemes and services reach the most marginalized citizens. Speaking about the Swamitva Scheme, he stated, “Through drone surveys, we have prepared updated maps of residential areas in rural regions. This initiative not only resolves long-standing disputes but also assists in creating more effective Gram Panchayat Development Plans (GPDP).”

He highlighted other initiatives, such as the “Sugam” app and the digitization of documents, which have introduced transparency and simplicity in administrative processes.

Boosting Rural Development

Acknowledging Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision, the Chief Minister discussed the ‘Pradhan Mantri Janman Yojana,’ which aims to bring development to remote tribal settlements. Under this scheme, 36 roads have been constructed in Kamar tribal areas at a cost of ₹47 crores, transforming connectivity in these underserved regions.

He also emphasized Dhamtari’s achievements in water conservation and irrigation, noting the district’s leadership in sustainable water resource management to support agriculture and livelihoods.

Relief for Farmers

Highlighting the government’s farmer-centric policies, the Chief Minister shared that Chhattisgarh offers ₹3,100 per quintal for paddy procurement and allows up to 21 quintals per acre. As a result, over 20 lakh farmers have sold 106 lakh metric tonnes of paddy so far, with ₹23,000 crores already disbursed directly into their accounts.

Benefits for All Communities

During the event, Deputy Chief Minister Shri Arun Saw praised the inclusive development in Chhattisgarh under Chief Minister Sai’s leadership. He highlighted schemes like the Swamitva Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, and Ayushman Bharat as instrumental in improving the quality of life for all citizens, from urban centers to remote villages.

Industrial Growth and Job Creation in Dhamtari

Addressing the gathering, MLA Shri Ajay Chandrakar spoke about Dhamtari’s immense industrial potential. He expressed optimism that new industries in the district would soon become operational, leading to significant job creation and economic growth.

A Step Towards Digital Empowerment

Chief Minister Sai concluded by stating that Chhattisgarh’s focus on digital governance is a significant step towards citizen empowerment. He affirmed that this initiative would not only enhance transparency but also set the foundation for accelerated development in the state.
