Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai inaugurated the State-Level Cyber Bhavan at the Police Headquarters in Naya Raipur today. The event marked a significant milestone in Chhattisgarh’s fight against cybercrime, with the CM emphasizing the importance of awareness and technological proficiency in addressing this modern challenge.

Raising Awareness to Combat Cybercrime

CM Sai highlighted the state government’s commitment to raising cybercrime awareness, mentioning the 410 awareness programs conducted in October, which reached 23 lakh people across the state. The more informed our citizens are, the safer they will be,” he said.

The CM also lauded the Chhattisgarh Police for their remarkable work in tracking and apprehending cybercriminals, including a gang involved in fraud through cryptocurrency and share trading. He acknowledged the increasing role of technology in such operations, stating, “Our partnership with institutions like IIT Bhilai and IIM Raipur is a major step forward in addressing cybercrime and human trafficking.”

Technological Innovations: ‘Samadhan’ and ‘Sashakt’ Mobile Apps

During the event, CM Sai launched two groundbreaking mobile applications:

  1. Samadhan Mobile App: Aimed at providing quick solutions to citizen grievances and complaints.
  2. Sashakt Mobile App: Designed to empower citizens with tools to prevent cybercrimes and ensure digital safety.

Both apps are part of the government’s broader strategy to create a technology-driven, secure environment for the citizens of Chhattisgarh.

Police Welfare Initiatives

In a move to support police personnel, MoUs with eight banks were signed to provide financial assistance to officers during emergencies. Additionally, police officials excelling in cybercrime investigations were honored for their exemplary work.

Commitment to Innovation and Governance

Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma, who also attended the event, praised CM Sai’s leadership and the government’s focus on good governance. Highlighting initiatives like the Mahatari Vandan Yojana, which has benefitted 70 lakh individuals, he said, “The government is committed to inclusive development and delivering benefits to all sections of society.”

On combating cybercrime, Sharma mentioned the success of the recent Cyber Awareness Fortnight, aimed at educating people about safe internet practices. He expressed confidence that the Cyber Bhavan will serve as a milestone in executing large-scale operations to curb cybercrimes.

The DCM also commended the Chhattisgarh Police for their achievements, particularly in limiting Naxal activities in the Bastar region. “This progress is the result of strategic planning and the government’s unwavering determination to establish peace,” he noted.

Moving Toward a Secure and Digitally Advanced Future

The Cyber Bhavan will serve as a hub for innovative campaigns and operations to tackle emerging cyber threats.
