Commerce, Industry, and Labor Minister Launches Free Coaching Facility for Competitive Exams

Under the leadership of Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, Chhattisgarh is taking concrete steps to empower its youth and secure their future. In a significant move, Commerce, Industry, and Labor Minister and District In-Charge Minister Lakhanlal Devangan inaugurated a free coaching facility in Kondagaon district to prepare students for competitive exams, providing them with vital resources and support.
Launch of Free Coaching Facility
The inauguration ceremony was held at the local auditorium in Kondagaon, where Minister Devangan distributed coaching kits to participating students. He emphasized that the initiative is funded through the District Mineral Trust Fund (DMF), following directives from Prime Minister Narendra Modi to utilize these resources for local development.
Minister Devangan praised CM Vishnu Deo Sai’s vision, stating, “The state government is committed to uplifting the youth and providing them with opportunities to succeed. This free coaching initiative will enable students to excel in their exams and contribute meaningfully to the state and the nation.”
Key Announcements by Minister Devangan
- Plans to introduce JEE and NEET coaching for 11th and 12th-grade science students in the district.
- Acknowledgment of PM Modi’s guarantees, including progress on housing under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, with 18 lakh houses approved in the state.
- Additional welfare measures, such as the Mahitari Vandan Yojana, which provides ₹1,000 monthly assistance to women, and several initiatives for farmers’ well-being.
Minister Devangan also honored the sacrifice of Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh on his martyrdom day, paying tribute to the freedom fighter.
Youth Excited About Free Coaching
The free coaching initiative has sparked enthusiasm among Kondagaon’s youth. Local students expressed relief at no longer needing to travel to cities like Raipur or Bilaspur for competitive exam preparation. The district administration had received 1,543 applications for coaching, and based on a merit-based selection process, 234 students were selected:
- UPSC: 19 students
- CGPSC: 94 students
- Vyapam: 102 students
- RRB (Railway Recruitment Board): 5 students
- Sub-Inspector (SI): 1 student
- SSC: 12 students
- Banking: 1 student
Coaching sessions are now underway, tailored to the students’ chosen fields of interest.
Administrative Perspective
District Collector Kunal Dudawat highlighted the challenges previously faced by students, who often had to travel to distant cities for quality coaching. He remarked, “This free coaching initiative, funded through DMF, is a game-changer for Kondagaon. It not only addresses logistical challenges but also ensures students have access to top-notch resources for competitive exams.”
Continuous Progress in Education
Deputy Chairperson of the Municipality, Jasketu Usendi, echoed the sentiment, applauding the state government’s focus on education under CM Sai’s leadership. He stated, “With facilities like these, Kondagaon is becoming a hub of educational opportunities, reducing the need for students to leave their hometowns for better prospects.”
