Bhopal, November , 2024: Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav unveiled a newly installed statue of Bharat Ratna Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar at Tower Chowk following the foundation stone-laying ceremony of the MedCity Medical College on Thursday. The event was attended by several dignitaries, including MP Anil Firojiya, Bal Yogi Umeshnath Maharaj, Minister-in-Charge Gautam Tetwal, Mayor Mukesh Tatwal, MLAs Anil Jain Kaluheda and Satish Malviya, Municipal Chairperson Kalavati Yadav, and other prominent citizens.
Honoring a Visionary Leader
Speaking on the occasion, CM Dr. Yadav highlighted the numerous contributions of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar to the nation. He praised Dr. Ambedkar as a 20th-century visionary who fought against social evils, inequalities, and discrimination, and worked tirelessly to bring equality and harmony to Indian society.
Dr. Yadav said, “Dr. Ambedkar empowered marginalized sections of society, encouraged their progress, and laid the foundation for equality through the Indian Constitution. His efforts to eradicate societal evils and promote progressive ideas before India’s independence remain unparalleled. We must ensure the preservation and respect of such monumental contributions.”
Statue Unveiled Amid Beautification
The newly installed statue, constructed at a cost of ₹12.5 lakh, has been adorned with enhanced security measures under Dr. Yadav’s direction. CCTV cameras have been installed for round-the-clock surveillance, and the surrounding area has been beautified with landscaping and decorative lighting.
A Tribute to the Legacy
The Chief Minister extended his heartfelt congratulations to the people and called for continued vigilance to protect and honor the legacies of great leaders. Mayor Mukesh Tatwal expressed gratitude during the ceremony, emphasizing the importance of preserving such tributes for future generations.
This event marks another step in recognizing and commemorating the pivotal role of Dr. Ambedkar, a trailblazer who empowered society and established a framework of equality through the Indian Constitution.
