Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav will inaugurate Bhopal’s largest flyover on Thursday, January 23. The flyover, constructed at a cost of ₹154 crore, spans 2,900 meters and promises to significantly improve traffic management in the city. The inaugural ceremony will also be attended by Public Works Minister Shri Rakesh Singh.
Route and Connectivity
The flyover stretches from Gayatri Mandir on Maida Mill Road to Ganesh Mandir, passing through DB Mall Square, Board Office Square, Pragati Square, and Manasrovar Complex. The structure is 15 meters wide and connects key residential and commercial areas, such as Vidya Nagar, Shakti Nagar, Kasturba Nagar, Saket Nagar, Danish Nagar, Aashima Mall, and AIIMS.
It will also facilitate smoother travel for commuters heading to Obedullaganj, Narmadapuram, Betul, Khandwa, and Jabalpur.
Traffic Relief and Benefits
The flyover is expected to:
- Reduce traffic congestion at high-density areas like DB Mall, Board Office, Pragati Petrol Pump, and Manasrovar Square.
- Handle 60% of the total traffic, leaving the remaining 40% for the existing routes.
- Provide direct access to Vallabh Bhavan and other state offices on Arera Hills via a branch from DB Mall Square to Bhopal Haat (Mantralaya Road).
