Bhopal | Saturday, November , 2024 | Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has announced an increase in the financial aid provided under the “Ladli Behna Yojana,” calling it a significant step in fulfilling social responsibility. Initially, eligible women received ₹1,000 per month, later increased to ₹1,250, with plans for further enhancement. Dr. Yadav emphasized the state government’s commitment to women empowerment, including expanding reservation for women in government services from 33% to 35%. This initiative aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s announcement of a 33% reservation for women in the Lok Sabha and legislative assemblies.

During a program at Indore’s Nehru Stadium, Chief Minister Yadav transferred the November installment of ₹1,573 crore to 1.29 crore Ladli Behna beneficiaries. Additionally, ₹333 crore was transferred to 5.5 million social security pension recipients, and ₹55 crore to 2.6 million women for gas cylinder refills. This transfer, part of the 300th birth anniversary celebrations of Lokmata Ahilya Devi, featured a record-breaking display of synchronized swordsmanship by thousands of girls and women, earning a new world record.

Dr. Yadav highlighted Madhya Pradesh’s strong history of women’s empowerment, celebrating the significant role played by women in India’s independence and heritage. Recognizing women’s economic independence, health, nutrition, and decision-making power, the state launched the “Mukhyamantri Ladli Behna Yojana-2023,” providing sustained support to improve women’s health, self-sufficiency, and family involvement. Since July 2023, beneficiaries of the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Gas Connection scheme and Ladli Behna Yojana have received cooking gas cylinders at a subsidized rate of ₹450. This month, ₹55.6 crore was paid directly to the bank accounts of 2.6 million women through linked Aadhaar accounts, saving families on household expenses.

Savitri Thakur, Water Resources Minister Shri Tulsiram Silawat, Mayor Shri Pushyamitra Bhargava, Commissioner Shri Deepak Singh, Collector Shri Ashish Singh, Police Commissioner Shri Santosh Singh, MLAs Shri Mahendra Hardia and Shri Manoj Patel, District Panchayat President Smt.
