Chhattisgarh to Play a Crucial Role in Achieving 300 Million Tonnes of Steel Production by 2030

Raipur, January 10, 2025: Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai addressed the All India Steel Conclave 2.0 at Mayfair Lake Resort, Nava Raipur, emphasizing Chhattisgarh’s critical role in achieving India’s ambitious target of 300 million tonnes of steel production by 2030. He asserted that the state is committed to its development journey with unwavering determination. He called upon every entrepreneur in the state to become a brand ambassador for Chhattisgarh’s growth and assured full government support to elevate the steel industry to new heights.

“Chhattisgarh is celebrating its silver jubilee year and moving steadily towards becoming a developed state,” the Chief Minister said. He highlighted the abundant opportunities available in the state and its potential to soon become a leading hub for lithium and other energy minerals.

A Hub for the Steel Industry
The Chief Minister stated that Chhattisgarh has ideal conditions for steel production, including abundant reserves of iron ore and coal, as well as an ample power supply. Ranking third in the country in steel production, Chhattisgarh is now venturing into green steel initiatives. He praised the steel industry for adopting advanced technologies to boost production and called for sustainable growth that addresses environmental challenges.

Single Window System 2.0 and New Industrial Policy
CM Sai also shed light on the state’s innovative Single Window System 2.0, a platform designed to streamline industrial processes by providing entrepreneurs and startups with all necessary facilities on a single portal. He reiterated the government’s target of creating 5 lakh new jobs under the state’s new industrial policy, which he described as a cornerstone of Chhattisgarh’s economic vision.

Encouraging Investment and Collaboration
Commerce and Industries Minister Lakhan Lal Dewangan highlighted the state’s investor-friendly policies under CM Sai’s leadership, which have been instrumental in attracting investments to Chhattisgarh. “The state, rich in mineral wealth and forestry, offers immense potential for economic growth,” Dewangan added. He urged industry leaders to promote the industrial policy widely so that more businesses can benefit from it and contribute to the state’s development.

Environmental and Social Responsibility
Member of Parliament Brijmohan Agrawal emphasized the need to balance industrial progress with environmental sustainability. He encouraged industries to utilize CSR funds to improve the lives of people and to ensure that growth is inclusive and responsible.

The conclave witnessed the presence of several key dignitaries, including Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Subodh Singh, Secretary Rahul Bhagat, Industries Secretary Rajat Kumar, Chairman of All India Steel Conclave 2.0 Ramesh Agrawal, President of Chhattisgarh Steel Re-Rollers Association Sanjay Tripathi, and Bhilai Steel Plant CEO Ajoy Kumar Chakraborty. Prominent entrepreneurs and representatives from the steel industry also participated in the event.
