Making Bus Travel Easier for Passengers Across the State

Bus passengers in Chhattisgarh can now access bus schedules and route information from the comfort of their homes, thanks to the launch of the ‘Bus Sangwari App’. The app, introduced by Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, aims to streamline bus travel, especially for passengers in remote areas.

During the State Road Safety Council meeting, Chief Minister Sai commended the initiative led by the Transport Department and described the app as a significant step toward improving governance and public convenience. He stated, “This app will be particularly beneficial for passengers in distant regions. In the future, the app will also provide interstate bus transportation details and real-time bus tracking.”

Key Features of the Bus Sangwari App

  1. Access to Bus Timetables: The app eliminates the need for passengers to visit bus stands or stops for schedule inquiries.
  2. Comprehensive Database: Information on over 5,000 buses operating on various routes across the state is currently available.
  3. GPS Integration: Buses are being equipped with GPS systems, enabling live tracking of routes via the app.
  4. Interstate Bus Updates: Plans are underway to include interstate bus operations for a broader user experience.

Simplifying Public Transport

Transport Secretary S. Prakash provided a detailed briefing on the app’s operation during the launch. Passengers can download the Bus Sangwari App from the Google Play Store, making public transport more accessible and efficient.

Chief Minister Sai highlighted that the app’s integration with GPS will soon allow real-time tracking of buses, offering travelers accurate updates on bus locations and schedules.

A Collaborative Effort

The meeting saw the participation of key officials, including:

  • Chief Secretary Amitabh Jain
  • Additional Chief Secretary Manoj Kumar Pingua
  • PWD Secretary Dr. Kamalpreet Singh
  • School Education Secretary Siddharth Komal Singh Pardeshi
  • Transport Secretary S. Prakash
  • ADG Traffic Pradeep Gupta

Representatives from other departments and divisional commissioners, along with police inspectors general, joined virtually. AIG Traffic Sanjay Sharma presented an overview of the interdepartmental initiatives during the session.

The Bus Sangwari App is poised to transform public transportation in Chhattisgarh, offering a seamless, user-friendly platform that saves time and enhances travel convenience for thousands of passengers every day.
