Bhopal, Friday, November 15, 2024, Prime Minister Narendra Modi emphasized the significance of **Tribal Pride Day**, celebrated nationwide on the birth anniversary of Lord Birsa Munda. He called it an honest endeavor to address historical injustices against the tribal community. Despite their unparalleled contributions to India’s freedom and cultural heritage, tribal communities were long denied their rightful place in history due to political biases.

### **Key Announcements by Prime Minister Modi**
– **Inauguration of Tribal Development Projects**: Over ₹6,000 crore worth of projects dedicated to the welfare of tribal communities were inaugurated. These include schools, hostels, healthcare facilities for tribal women, roads, and housing for tribal families.
– **Virtual Dedication of Museums**: Two museums in Madhya Pradesh—**Badal Bhoi Tribal Freedom Fighter Museum in Chhindwara** and **Shankar Shah-Raghunath Shah Museum in Jabalpur**—were inaugurated to honor tribal freedom fighters.
– **Housing for Tribal Families**: More than 11,000 tribal families were handed keys to their new homes on the auspicious occasion of Dev Deepawali.

### **State-Level Celebrations in Madhya Pradesh**
A state-level event was organized in Shahdol, attended by **Governor Mangubhai Patel**, **Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav**, and other dignitaries. The event featured traditional tribal ceremonies and performances, reflecting the community’s rich cultural heritage.

#### **Governor Mangubhai Patel’s Address**
Governor Patel commended the ongoing welfare programs under PM Modi’s leadership, particularly the **Jan Man Yojana** and **Sickle Cell Anemia Eradication Mission**, aimed at uplifting tribal communities.
– **Sickle Cell Awareness**: He highlighted the importance of early diagnosis and awareness as key strategies to combat this genetic disorder. He urged couples to check compatibility through Sickle Cell Cards before marriage.
– **Tribute to Tribal Leaders**: The Governor paid homage to Lord Birsa Munda and other tribal freedom fighters, acknowledging their immense contributions to the nation.

#### **Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav’s Address**
Chief Minister Yadav emphasized the tribal community’s **inalienable rights over water, forests, and land**, rights that were forcefully taken by colonial powers.
– **Birsa Munda’s Legacy**: He praised Birsa Munda for uniting the tribal society against British oppression and missionary conversion efforts.
– **Government Initiatives**: The CM highlighted ongoing projects to restore tribal pride, including the naming of institutions and infrastructure after tribal leaders like **Tantya Mama** and **Rani Durgavati**, as well as schemes promoting indigenous crops like **kodo** and **kutki**.

### **Development Initiatives**
During the event, the Governor and CM inaugurated and laid the foundation stones for **76 development projects** worth ₹229.66 crore in Shahdol district, including:
– ₹68.15 crore for 33 completed projects.
– ₹161.51 crore for 43 upcoming projects.

### **Cultural and Traditional Exhibitions**
The event showcased traditional tribal dances such as **Gutumba, Shaila, and Karma**, along with exhibitions from various departments highlighting welfare schemes for the tribal community.
