Establishment of 254 New Fertilizer Sales Centers Approved
Age Limit for Recruitment of Professors in New Medical Colleges Increased to 50 Years
Bhopal: Tuesday, November , 2024, – A Cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav was held at the Ministry, where significant decisions were made for the state’s development.
35% Reservation for Women in Civil Services
The Cabinet approved the amendment to the Madhya Pradesh Civil Service (Special Provisions for Women’s Appointment) Rules, 1997, following the Chief Minister’s order dated September 13, 2023, and the notification issued on October 3, 2023. This decision officially confirms a 35% reservation for women in civil services, promoting gender equality and empowering women in governance.
Approval for 254 New Fertilizer Sales Centers
The Cabinet sanctioned the establishment of 254 new fertilizer sales centers for the 2024-25 agricultural seasons (Kharif and Rabi). The government will reimburse the estimated expenditure on human resources up to a maximum of ₹1.72 crore, supporting the agriculture sector and ensuring farmers have easy access to essential fertilizers.
Feasibility Study for a New 660 MW Ultra-Supercritical Unit
The Cabinet also granted permission to decommission Units 6, 7, 8, and 9 (with a total capacity of 830 MW) at the Satpura Thermal Power Station in Sarni. These units, having operated for 39 to 44 years, have reached the end of their designed lifespan. The decommissioned units will be disposed of via e-auction. In their place, the Madhya Pradesh Power Generating Company Limited will conduct a feasibility study to establish a new 660 MW Ultra-Supercritical Unit (Unit 13), enhancing the state’s power infrastructure.
Increase in Age Limit for Medical College Faculty Recruitment
To address the shortage of medical teachers in new government medical colleges, the Cabinet approved increasing the maximum age limit for recruiting assistant professors from 40 to 50 years. This move aims to attract experienced medical professionals to strengthen the academic and healthcare landscape.
Recognition of Allied Health Courses
The Cabinet decided to continue recognition and registration processes for allied health courses under the existing Madhya Pradesh Allied Medical Council Act, 2000, until new regulations are issued by the National Commission. The dissolved Madhya Pradesh Allied Medical Council will be revived to complete registrations and examinations. Once the National Commission’s regulations are implemented, the revived Council will automatically dissolve, and the state will proceed with the previously decided repeal of the Act.
Other Decisions
The Cabinet granted in-principle approval for the “Strengthening of Cooperatives through IT Interventions” project initiated by the Ministry of Cooperation, Government of India. This project, which involves computerization of the Registrar of Cooperative Societies’ office in the state, will cost ₹3.68 crore, with 60% of the funding provided by the central government and 40% by the state government.
