Dehradun, July 23, 2026: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Thursday rolled out a fresh welfare package for registered construction workers at the Main Seva Sadan in the Chief Minister’s Camp Office. He also flagged off two mobile medical vans under the Chief Minister Health Scheme for workers and their families.
The new measures are aimed at improving the lives of construction workers through support in nutrition, education, hygiene, health and skill development. Dhami said the state government considers construction workers a vital part of Uttarakhand’s growth and is committed to ensuring that welfare schemes reach them in a practical and effective way.
Under the new package, the Mukhyamantri Poshan Yojana will provide nutrition assistance to worker families, while the Mukhyamantri Shiksha Samagri Yojana will supply school materials to the children of registered workers. The Mukhyamantri Swachhata Samagri Vitaran Programme, inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s cleanliness campaign, will distribute hygiene kits to labour households.
The Chief Minister also launched the Mukhyamantri Yoga and Wellness Arogya Yojana, under which eligible students from worker families will receive free yoga and wellness training. Each year, 210 children will be given residential training, while 70 youth undergoing technical training will also be linked with employment after completion of the programme.
Healthcare support will be strengthened through the Mukhyamantri Shramik Swasthya Parikshan Yojana. The newly flagged-off mobile medical vans will take doctors and health teams to remote locations, offering 44 types of free tests, including X-ray and ECG, along with tele-consultation and follow-up monitoring for three months.
Dhami said the government is not treating workers merely as labour, but as a development force for the state. He added that Uttarakhand has already been providing tools, bicycles, sewing machines, housing assistance and monthly pensions to make workers and elderly labourers more secure and self-reliant.
Board Secretary P.C. Dumka presented details of the board’s work and the newly introduced schemes. The event was attended by MLAs Umesh Sharma Kau, Savita Kapoor and Durgeshwar Lal, along with Kailash Pant, Geeta Rawat, Mohini Pokhariya, Prof. Govind Singh, Secretary Shridhar Babu Adyanki and other dignitaries.
