Burhanpur, June 5: Ahead of the proposed unveiling ceremony of Bharat Ratna Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar’s statue being installed near Sagar Tower at Lalbagh Railway Station, Mayor Mrs. Madhuri Atul Patel inspected the statue site and reviewed the ongoing beautification and development works.
During the inspection, the Mayor directed concerned officials to ensure that all necessary arrangements are completed within the stipulated timeframe so that the site becomes attractive, well-organized, and inspirational for citizens. She emphasized maintaining high standards in cleanliness, lighting, green space development, painting, road accessibility, and other beautification works around the statue complex.
While interacting with officials, Mayor Mrs. Madhuri Patel said that the life and contributions of Bharat Ratna Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar continue to inspire society as a whole. She stressed that all preparations should be completed on a priority basis to ensure the unveiling ceremony is conducted in a dignified manner and that citizens are provided with a clean, beautiful, and well-developed public space.
She further stated that the statue site would not only serve as a memorial but would also symbolize the ideals of Dr. Ambedkar, the architect of the Indian Constitution, and his message of social harmony. Therefore, special attention should be given to both quality and aesthetics in the development and beautification of the premises.
The Mayor instructed all concerned departments to regularly monitor the progress of the works and ensure their completion within the prescribed timeline so that the proposed unveiling ceremony can be conducted successfully and on a grand scale.
Municipal Commissioner Sandeep Shrivastava, MIC members Sandhya Rajesh Shivhare, Dhanraj Mahajan, Sambhaji Sagare, Bharat Ingle, Mahendra Ingle, Ejaz Asarfi, Councillor Rajesh Mahajan, SC Morcha District President Rajkumar Wagh, public representative Santosh Ganwai, Harish More, along with officials and employees of various departments, were present during the inspection.
