Chhattisgarh has earned two prestigious national awards for its outstanding implementation of the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PM-JAY), recognized as the “Best Performing Large State” at a chintan shivir in Pune on April 17th to18th, 2026. This accolade underscores the state’s commitment to transparent, efficient, and beneficiary centric health services, setting a benchmark for fraud detection and claim processing.

The state received honors in two critical categories: ‘High Trigger Efficacy’ for precise identification and analysis of suspicious claims, and ‘Timely Processing of Suspicious Claims’ for swift resolution. Advanced IT based monitoring, robust claim audit systems, and trigger based surveillance have enabled timely detection and rectification of irregularities, fostering better hospital coordination and reducing delays. With 97% of empanelled hospitals actively participating the highest in India. Chhattisgarh ensures seamless, high quality care for beneficiaries, reflecting administrative prowess and technological integration.

Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai hailed the awards as proof of the state’s transparent, accountable, and people focused health framework, crediting health officials, workers, and partners. He reaffirmed the goal of delivering free, quality healthcare to the last mile through tech driven oversight and continuous reforms.
