Under Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav’s leadership, Madhya Pradesh has achieved remarkable milestones in women empowerment over recent years. Initiatives prioritizing health, nutrition, safety, protection, and economic upliftment for children, adolescent girls, and women, including innovative implementations and the Devi Ahilya Nari Shakti program, position the state as a national exemplar.
Echoing PM Narendra Modi’s call to link national progress to women among four priority groups, Dr. Yadav has strategized focused welfare programs. Across 453 ICDS projects, 97,882 anganwadi centers serve 84 lakh beneficiaries with geo fencing based online attendance and transparent online recruitment, making MP the first such state. The 2026-2027 budget allocates 3,768 crore Rupees for Saksham Anganwadi and Poshan 2.0.
Poshan 2.0 employs Nutrition Tracker app for maternal child nutrition and severe malnutrition monitoring across anganwadis, face matching verified 94% beneficiaries, topping national charts. Take home ration and hot cooked meals benefit over 60 lakh children, pregnant, lactating mothers, budget includes 1,150 crore Rupees for supplementary nutrition and 250 crore Rupees for Poshan Abhiyan. Mukhyamantri Bal Arogya Sanvardhan treated 3.71 lakh of 7.37 lakh registered severe malnourished kids in 2025. Jhabuas Moti Aai innovation won PM Excellence Award. 5,263 new anganwadi buildings underway, 38,900 electrified, with 459 crore Rupees for infrastructure; PM JANMAN approved 704 special centers for Baiga, Bharia, Sahariya tribes, completing 150 of 217 in 2023 24 first nationally.
Mukhyamantri Ladli Behna Yojana, MP’s largest DBT scheme, aids 1.25 crore women with 1,500 Rupees monthly, disbursing 52,305 crore Rupees from June 2023 to February 2026, 23,882 crore Rupees budgeted for 2026-2027. Ladli Lakshmi registered 52.56 lakh girls with 1,801 crore Rupees provision. Beti Bachao Beti Padhao drove massive awareness. PM Matru Vandana leads nationally, budgeted 386 crore Rupees.
Safety nets expand
57 One Stop Centres plus 8 new, 181 women, 1098 child helplines resolved 1.43 lakh cases. Sakhi Niwas in Bhopal Indore, 8 new working women hostels. Shakti Sadan, Shaurya Dal, integrated child protection aided thousands. MP Women Finance Development Corp supports SHG’s, entrepreneurs with aid, interest subsidies.
The 32,730 crore Rupees budget for Women Child Development underscores unwavering commitment, blending direct transfers, nutrition, safety, and enterprise to forge self reliant women as Viksit Madhya Pradesh’s cornerstone. Sustained innovation will amplify this momentum nationwide.
