Bhopal, Jan 10: Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav kicked off the Swachh Jal Abhiyan today via video conference, aiming to secure water safety, conservation, and public hearings. Senior BJP leader Kailash Vijayvargiya joined the VC alongside mayors, district panchayat chiefs, commissioners, collectors, municipal commissioners, CEOs, and representatives from urban and rural areas.
The campaign promises clean drinking water for all through Jal Sunwai, giving citizens a right to voice complaints and ensure supply quality. It emphasizes public awareness and community involvement, running in two phases: first from January 10 to February 28, and second from March 1 to May 31.
Key actions include cleaning all water purifiers and storage tanks, monitored via GIS map based apps. Steps target preventing contamination in drinking water pipelines, mapping water and sewage lines on GIS with robot assisted leak detection, testing all sources, and regular quality checks plus STP monitoring. Complaints can be lodged on 181, with time bound resolutions and applicant updates. Jal Sunwai happens every Tuesday.
CM Dr. Yadav stressed, “Its our duty to deliver clean water to every home using technology. Ensure regular testing, if contaminated, switch to alternatives immediately. No dirty water supply under any circumstance. Treat Jal Sunwai seriously. This is a big challenge, but well tackle it head on and set a national example.” He warned of strict action against negligent officials and staff.
This drive marks a bold step to resolve Madhya Pradesh’s water woes for good.
