₹1.33 Crore in Assistive Devices Distributed to 470 People with Disabilities

Bhopal, November 9, 2024: Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav emphasized the government’s unwavering commitment to providing comprehensive support to persons with disabilities for a dignified life. He highlighted the accomplishments of historical figures like scholar Ashtavakra, poet Surdas, musician Ravindra Jain, and saint Ramabhadracharya, who overcame physical challenges to achieve greatness. The government is dedicated to empowering individuals with disabilities by ensuring opportunities in education, health, and employment.

During a program at the Indore Rural Haat Bazaar, CM Dr. Yadav distributed assistive devices such as laptops and motorized tricycles to 470 persons with disabilities. Organized with the Social Justice and Empowerment Department, this initiative aligns with the ADIP scheme by the Government of India and CSR support from Avantika Gas Agency and the Indian Red Cross Society. The distributed items include motorized tricycles for 155 people, laptops for 81 students under the Disabled Education Incentive Scheme, financial aid for six couples under the Disabled Marriage Promotion Scheme, digital hearing aids for 130 elderly, and wheelchairs, CP chairs, crutches, and calipers for 99 individuals. A total of ₹1.33 crore worth of items was provided.

To enhance employment opportunities, CM Dr. Yadav presented appointment letters to five selected individuals with disabilities, facilitated through a specialized employment portal initiated by Collector Ashish Singh. The event commenced with a ceremonial welcome of attendees by Dr. Yadav and was inaugurated with a lamp-lighting ceremony.

Also in attendance were Water Resources Minister Tulsi Ram Silawat, Mayor Pushyamitra Bhargav, MLAs Manoj Patel and Mahendra Hardia, Zila Panchayat President Reena Malviya, and other representatives, along with a large gathering of citizens and persons with disabilities.
