Two-Day Seminar on Cyber Investigation and Digital Forensics Concludes at Madhya Pradesh Police Academy

Bhopal, January 30, 2025: Under the guidance of Additional Director General of Police and Director of the Madhya Pradesh Police Academy, Ms. Sonali Mishra, a two-day seminar on Cyber Investigation and Digital Forensics was successfully organized at the Madhya Pradesh Police Academy, Bhori, Bhopal. The seminar witnessed the participation of 42 police officers, including Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs), Inspectors, Sub-Inspectors, cyber experts, and digital forensic investigators from various districts. The primary objective of the seminar was to provide insights into the latest techniques in cybercrime investigation and the analysis of digital evidence.

Key Highlights of the Seminar

Day 1: January 29, 2025

The seminar was inaugurated by DSP Rajiv Tripathi. On the first day, State Cyber Cell experts Mr. Dharmendra Mishra and Mr. Deepak Singh provided in-depth knowledge on the fundamentals of cybercrime, Call Detail Record (CDR) analysis, Internet Protocol Detail Record (IPDR) examination, and the government’s cybercrime dealing portal.

Additionally, CBI Cyber Inspector Mr. Abhishek Sonkar delivered a detailed lecture on financial crime investigation and strategies for targeting cybercrime.

Day 2: January 30, 2025

On the second day, Cyber Expert Mr. Kuldeep Verma shared insights into the basics of digital forensics, search and seizure procedures for electronic evidence, and its legal admissibility in court.

Later, DCP Central Zone Bhopal, Mr. Riaz Iqbal, provided a comprehensive overview of cyber investigation, challenges in tackling modern cybercrimes, and case studies from his tenure in districts like Satna, Morena, Panna, and Singrauli. He elaborated on how cybercrimes were traced and resolved by police officers in the field.

Additionally, as part of the Mission Karmayogi initiative, participants were trained through a video demonstration on the iGOT portal.

Closing Ceremony & Acknowledgments

The seminar concluded with a vote of thanks by Additional Superintendent of Police, Ms. Shraddha Joshi, and DSP Rajiv Tripathi, while the session was moderated by Inspector Rupesh Magareya. The successful execution of the seminar was made possible by Mr. Nohar Singh, Mr. Dilip Sharma, Mr. Manoj Sen, Mr. Nivesh Mishra, Mr. Pradeep Alawa, and other dedicated police personnel.

This seminar marked a significant step in enhancing the capabilities of police officers in cyber investigation and digital forensics, ensuring better preparedness in tackling evolving cyber threats.
