Flag Unveiled, Anthem Released, and Centenary Balloon Takes Flight

Jabalpur: Marking 100 glorious years, the Siddhi Bala Bose Library Association, one of the oldest Bengali institutions in the region, officially kicked off its centennial celebrations with a grand event. Madhya Pradesh’s Public Works Minister, Shri Rakesh Singh, attended as the chief guest and inaugurated the occasion by lighting a ceremonial lamp. The celebrations blended traditional Bengali culture with modern festivities, featuring dhak beats, ulu sounds, and a spectacular fireworks display.

Centenary Balloon Soars High
During the inauguration, Shri Rakesh Singh paid floral tribute to the statue of Swami Vivekananda and released a specially prepared centenary balloon into the sky. Following Bengali traditions, the minister was welcomed warmly with rituals that showcased the richness of the community’s culture.

Cultural Highlights and Recognitions
The ceremony began with musical performances, including a stirring rendition of Rabindra Sangeet and Vande Mataram, followed by an exquisite Odissi dance that captivated the audience. Eminent individuals—Mrs. Jaishree Banerjee, Mrs. Preeti Bhaduari, Mr. S.P. Dutta, Mr. Sandeep Biswas, Mr. Santosh Devdhariya, and Mr. Mantosh Dutta—were honored for their exceptional contributions to the society.

Unveiling Centennial Symbols
A new centenary flag, emblem, and anthem were unveiled during the event, representing the institution’s storied legacy and continued commitment to preserving Bengali traditions.

Acknowledgment of Community Efforts
Various Bengali organizations across Jabalpur were recognized for their efforts in promoting cultural values. These included DB Club Vivek VFJ, Westland Khamaria, Ranjhi Kaliwadi, Ramkrishna Mission, Narmada Durga Puja Committee, and others. Each organization plays a vital role in upholding the vibrant heritage of the Bengali community.

Dignitaries in Attendance
The stage was graced by several notable personalities, including Shri Rakesh Singh, Prof. Gayatri Sinha, Subrata Pal, Prakash Saha, Swami Sarvedananda Maharaj, and Swami Bhudevananda Maharaj. A heartfelt vote of thanks was extended by Mrs. Krishna Chatterjee and Mr. Abhijit Mukherjee.
