Raipur, November 28, 2024 The remote forested regions of Bilaspur’s Kota block have witnessed a significant transformation in healthcare delivery with the introduction of Sangwari Bike Ambulances. This innovative service, launched under Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai’s welfare initiatives, has become a lifeline for tribal communities like the Baiga and Birhor, providing timely medical assistance to over 4,000 patients in areas inaccessible to conventional ambulances.

Key Highlights

  1. Unprecedented Accessibility:
    • Operating in challenging terrains where regular vehicles cannot reach, bike ambulances have ensured 24/7 availability across all weather conditions—summer, monsoon, and winter.
  2. Impact on Tribal Communities:
    • Since March, four bike ambulances have transported 4,089 patients, including pregnant women, children, and critically ill individuals, free of charge.
    • Villages like Shivtarai (1,108 patients), Kurdar (850 patients), Kenda (1,310 patients), and Aamagon (821 patients) have significantly benefited.
  3. Enhanced Maternal and Child Care:
    • Pregnant women are brought to health centers for institutional deliveries and prenatal check-ups, ensuring safer childbirth. Post-delivery, mothers and newborns are safely transported home.
  4. Testimonials of Gratitude:
    • Manisha from Manjgaon: Credited the bike ambulance for a safe delivery at Kenda hospital, expressing gratitude for this life-saving service.
    • Mandakini from Chhatouna: A 35-year-old patient who received urgent care, praised the service as a life-saver for tribal communities.
  5. Efficient Healthcare Model:
    • Equipped with essential medical facilities, Sangwari Bike Ambulances function as mini-ambulances, providing swift, hassle-free transport to medical centers.

This initiative has not only improved healthcare access in Chhattisgarh’s remote tribal regions but has also strengthened the community’s trust in government welfare schemes. Residents have expressed heartfelt thanks to the state government and Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai for addressing their healthcare challenges effectively.
