A Milestone for Supporting Child Rearing

Kanker, 17 December 2024: The Mahatari Vandan Yojana has emerged as a blessing for the women of the state, providing financial relief and stability to countless families. For some, it brought happiness, while for others, it became a critical lifeline during tough times. One such example is Neetu Yadav, a resident of Rajapara Ward, Kanker, for whom this scheme turned out to be a significant milestone during her darkest days.

Neetu shared that six years ago, she lost her husband in a tragic road accident, leaving her alone to care for her three children. The sudden loss brought immense struggles, and with no financial or emotional support from relatives, life became a daily challenge. To make ends meet, she started working in households, doing chores like dishwashing and cleaning, but the income was insufficient to sustain her family.

Amidst this hardship, government schemes came as a beacon of hope. Through the Widow Support Pension Scheme and Mahatari Vandan Yojana, Neetu now receives ₹1,000 per month—₹500 under each scheme. The consistent financial assistance has allowed her to meet essential expenses and even save a small amount for emergencies.

So far, Neetu has received 10 installments under the Mahatari Vandan Yojana, which has brought immense relief. Expressing her gratitude, she thanked the sensitive leadership of Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai and the state government for introducing such initiatives. She said, “When my family was completely broken and helpless, this scheme brought light to our lives during the darkest times.”
