Raipur, November 2024: Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai celebrated Diwali by presenting gifts to the beneficiaries of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. A large number of citizens visited the Chief Minister’s camp office in his native village, Bagiya, to extend Diwali greetings. The Chief Minister warmly welcomed everyone and exchanged heartfelt conversations with them. Among the visitors were beneficiaries of the housing scheme, who received festive gifts from the Chief Minister and in turn presented him with stalks of paddy, a symbol of prosperity and good fortune.
During the celebrations, the Chief Minister bought clay lamps and pots from Smt. Tilaso Bai, a beneficiary of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. Not only has she received a permanent house under the scheme, but she was also provided with an electric potter’s wheel by the Mati Kala Board. With this wheel, she crafts clay items like lamps, pots, and water vessels, selling them at local markets.
Beneficiaries like Smt. Tilaso Bai, Navita Pankra, Amrita Bai, Rajni Chauhan, and Kumari Shashi Chauhan expressed their joy and gratitude for the housing assistance, thanking the Chief Minister for transforming their living conditions. The event was attended by Collector Rohit Vyas and Superintendent of Police Shashimohan Singh.

Smt. Tilaso Bai shared that the electric potter’s wheel provided under the Kumhkar Terracotta Scheme has significantly eased her work and increased production speed. She now makes items like lamps, piggy banks, and decorative chimneys more efficiently. The Diwali season brought a high demand for her products, boosting her income considerably. The wheel has enabled her to meet market demands swiftly, leading to better earnings and a brighter festive season.
