Raipur, November, 2024 – Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai will inaugurate multiple development projects worth ₹143.68 crore in Bilaspur on November 23. As part of the event, the Chief Minister will inaugurate key infrastructure projects, including roads, sports complexes, multi-level parking, and the Ram Setu Road, which have been constructed under various state development schemes.

During his visit, the Chief Minister will inaugurate the Sakri Road, Minocha Road, Sports Complex, Mini Stadium, a Multi-Level Parking near the City Kotwali, and the Ram Setu Road along the Arpa River. He will also attend the Raut Nacha Mahotsav at Lal Bahadur Shastri School in Bilaspur.

Key Projects to be Inaugurated:

  • Ram Setu Road
    Under the Arpa Uthan and Riverfront Development Project, the Ram Setu Road, constructed at a cost of ₹49.98 crore, includes footpaths, dividers, street lights, retaining walls, and aesthetic landscaping. The road runs along the right bank of the Arpa River, enhancing the connectivity and beauty of the region.
  • Mini Stadium
    The Government Multipurpose Higher Secondary School ground has been developed into a Mini Stadium at a cost of ₹21.79 crore by Bilaspur Smart City Limited. The stadium features a fully-equipped cricket field with a seating capacity of 850, along with facilities for day-night matches. The complex includes indoor games such as snooker, billiards, table tennis, squash, a modern gym, and a training hall. Additionally, there is a VIP gallery, an announcement box, a pantry, and a hostel for visiting players. Two lawn tennis courts are also part of the facility.
  • Sports Complex
    The Sanjay Taran Pushkar Complex now houses a new sports complex with three floors, built at a cost of ₹14.60 crore. The basement will serve as parking, while the ground floor will feature a reception and restaurant. The first floor will have badminton and squash courts, table tennis, snooker, billiards, while the second floor includes a multipurpose hall and yoga facilities. The third floor will offer several recreational amenities.
  • Kotwali Multi-Level Parking
    A multi-level parking facility with a capacity to accommodate 192 cars and 325 bikes has been constructed at a cost of ₹29.76 crore within the Kotwali Police Station premises. The three-story parking complex also includes a commercial area on the ground floor with 46 retail outlets.
  • Uslapur-Sakri Road
    A road upgrade and widening project from Uslapur Railway Overbridge to Sakri Bypass Chowk has been completed at a cost of ₹15.87 crore. The 4.5 km stretch now features a wider road, dividers, street lights, and drainage on both sides, easing traffic congestion.
  • Minocha Colony and Other Roads
    Various roads, including Minocha Colony and areas from Mahavir Nagar Chowk to Uslapur Overbridge, have been upgraded with a budget of ₹11.68 crore. This includes road widening, the addition of dividers, street lighting, and signage for better traffic management.

Increased Focus on Infrastructure and Smart City Development:

The projects being inaugurated reflect the state’s focus on enhancing the urban infrastructure and providing better amenities for the citizens of Bilaspur. Through these initiatives, the government aims to improve the quality of life, boost the local economy, and support the development of a smart, well-connected city.
